Soap Dispenser Project
Engineered a contactless automatic soap dispensing system for EPIC, integrating a sensor-triggered actuator to deliver controlled doses of GoJo Natural Orange Soap while minimizing contamination risk. Designed a modular housing assembly to interface with commercial soap bottles, incorporating a waterproof, easy-to-clean plastic shell and a custom Soap Pump Cover for consistent actuation. Led the housing design, optimizing geometry for sensor alignment and user ergonomics. Collaborated with teammates on circuit integration and enclosure prototyping, ensuring seamless interaction between mechanical and electronic subsystems.
Temperature Sensing Box Project
Developed a temperature monitoring device capable of detecting ambient temperature and alerting users when readings moved outside a defined safe range (70–75°F). Integrated electrical, mechanical, and programming components including an Arduino board, temperature sensor, LEDs, buzzer, and LCD display to enable real-time monitoring and alerts. Designed and assembled the system through soldering, wiring, enclosure fabrication, and embedded code development. Conducted functional testing to validate responsiveness to temperature fluctuations, triggering visual and auditory alerts beyond thresholds. Identified improvement areas in accuracy and compactness while achieving project objectives. Gained hands-on experience in interdisciplinary design, combining electrical, mechanical, and software engineering to create a practical, scalable temperature sensing solution.

Truss Design Project
Engineered a cost-efficient truss structure optimized for maximum load capacity and minimal member bending under stress. Utilized custom computer modeling software to evaluate multiple truss configurations, analyzing load distribution and material efficiency to select the most effective design. Determined that medium-length members provided optimal balance between strength and stability, reducing bending moments and improving overall structural integrity. Constructed and tested a 31-inch truss designed to support a two-pound load for at least sixty seconds, adhering to strict cost and geometric constraints. Gained hands-on experience in computational analysis, structural optimization, and iterative design—translating theoretical engineering concepts into a functional prototype.
Armadillo Dig Box Project
Designed and prototyped a dig-box enrichment system for the three-banded armadillo at the Oklahoma City Zoo to promote natural foraging behavior and enhance animal–visitor interaction. Developed a hands-off enrichment activity requiring minimal setup, inspired by observed behaviors of digging and object manipulation. Constructed a transportable, easy-to-assemble prototype tested for durability and setup efficiency under timed conditions. Improved ramp accessibility by adding traction ridges after initial testing revealed steep incline issues. Delivered a functional enrichment device encouraging sensory stimulation and problem-solving through the inclusion of hidden insect rewards, supporting both animal welfare and educational engagement.
